Artist-in-residence program at the Verbeke Foundation began in 2008 and offers both established and emerging artists an exciting opportunity to create works in situ. The foundation provides on-site accommodation, full board as well as access to the workshop so that artists can fully dedicate themselves to art projects. The residencies are self-directed and are meant for production of new artworks and exhibitions.
Artists-in-residence are selected on the basis of their applications. The Verbeke Foundation expresses special interest in proposals for artworks that attempt to introduce innovations and are in line with the foundation’s experimental spirit. The application should include the following documents in pdf format:
• portfolio of 5-10 images with short descriptions of your recent work (please add title, year, size, medium and mention if group work),
• artist statement describing and contextualizing your art practice,
• resume including details of past exhibitions and publications (max. 2 pages),
• project proposal including description, sketches and/or visualizations as well as your expectations of the residency.
There is no strict deadline to the call for entries. Artists are welcome to submit the applications throughout the entire year. Please send the documents to tineke@verbekefoundation.com
