Within the framework of the investigation ‘archive for the future’ Mathhijs Bosman got the command to think about his legacy, with as a result this monument.
In ‘Archive for the future’ the bkkc together with the Verbeke Foundation examined the issues around the conservation and management of oeuvres of contemporary artists. The project consisted of research, four exhibitions, a symposium and an e-publication, which can be supplemented with new insights and developments.
Questions asked:
Are you aware of your own body of work or focus only on achieving new work? How do you want to be seen and later remembered? And what considerations form the basis of what you show and leave behind if you no longer can? A reflection on dilemmas around the nature, extent and the conservation and management of the own oeuvre and the sake of your legacy.
