First Collage Exhibition!

From January 16th to May 15th 2010, Verbeke Foundation will organise the first exhibition of collages by the British surrealist Desmond Morris (° 1928).

Two series of collages, dating from 1987 and 2002, will be on display in the collage museum, alongside the exhibition of the Belgian collage artist E.L.T. Mesens (1903-1971).

The first exhibition by Desmond Morris in London was held in Mesens' gallery in 1950. For the first time ever, works of both these legends of surrealism will be exhibited side by side.

Verbal Pollution
is all around us:
the smog
of a million journals,
the effluence
of a thousand jargons,
the debris
of countless conferences.
Perhaps for a year we should all remain silent
and stare at the sunset
